Get Intimate.

Yesterday I talked about the sheer trend that is overwhelming us all and mentioned that it is NOTHING without the right undergarments. Here are a couple of my absolute favourite at the moment from favourite luxury online lingerie store Journelle

Remember, when daring to bare don't be affraid to flash a little lacey number. This look can still be understated and chic is executed perfectly, but be careful not to go borderline downtown valley whore.

Sheer Perfection.

So I am a little bit obsessed with all things sheer at the moment.
Chiffon, silk or lace I find it all so light and feminine. We have witnessed the Givenchy's 2011 Spring collection trickle down on to the streets and watched as fashionista's all around the world embraced the trend and made it their own. Models such as Abbey Lee rocked sheer as their day to day "model of duty" look and it has become a staple item in every fashion week attendee’s wardrobe.
This trend is transitional and appropriate for all, no matter which side of the world you are living on at the moment.
At the end of the day though, the sheer is nothing unless perfectly put together with appropriate under garments. More on the tomorrow though...

Beth Hoeckel.

I am so drawn to mix media and collages. These particular collages are by Beth Hoeckel from Balitmore, USA.

They are so dreamy and I love how none of the feature any facial expressions or eye's. Making them all a little bit mysterious.

All collages shown are made with found paper and archival paste (not created digitally)

See the rest of Beth's work including some photography, paintings and drawings here on her website.

CAMEO.

By far one of my most favourite home grown labels. My Cameo collection is growing ever so gracefully and after watching this video maybe you can understand why.

I'm expecting amazing things from this label. If you are looking for something that is one of a kind (and not just copy cat label) I honestly recommend checking them out ASAP.

I present to you Cameo: The Dream Machine
Check out their page here and here.

Crystal Clear.

A DIY I have borrowed from one of my favourite bloggers Ivania Carpio from LOVE AESTHETICS. She is stunning but yet mysterious and never fails to always look effortlessly edgy and super cool.
I want to try this ASAP. I love the double cuff trend, but the gold and silver is becoming to bigger trend.  For more details on how these perspex beauties were made, clicky click here.

Trolls.

Just a little message I'd like to send to those who are reading my blog for the wrong reasons or trying to rain on my parade. I have worked hard to get where have today and this "quote" sums up exactly how I feel about some people.

Long live Karl!

It's in my Nature.

As a fashion student I often wonder where designers draw their colour inspirations from. In most cases, the best way to get your creative juices flowing and your brain ticking is by putting together a mood board.

Long gone are the days where I actually used to enjoy sitting down with a pair of scissors and  glue together things that inspired me. I much rather utilize the computer skills I have and whip something up that avoids me having to bust out the PVC.

You may have picked up on the fact that I rather enjoy taking pictures of nature, so I thought this time I would  put together a visual comparison of the natural colours around us versus the consistent colour trends we are seeing on the streets.

Sourced Grocer.

Sticking with my healthy living and food theme, last weekend I had the pleasure of been introduced by a friend to new popular Newstead  hang out, the Sourced Grocer. This place will have your taste buds tantalizing and minds wondering as you sit in their homey hub pondering all the worldly delicious delicacies that line the shelves of their shop. Not to mention the adorable little cold room, filled with healthy wholesome organic produce.

Whilst you are there, be sure to indulge in something form their menu. You literally can't go wrong with anything you pick. Have a coffee with friends, hang out in the sun, bring your favourite pooch with you and finally take home a bunch of fresh cut flowers with you and your weekend is complete.

Brisbane is fast giving other cities such as Sydney and Melbourne a run for their money when it comes to good food and coffee houses. The Sourced Grocer is literally holding Brisbane's hand as it paves its reputation within the industry, as it is everything this little city needed.

Check out there facebook page and website for all location details.

See you Brisbane kids there!

Give it up for Kanye.

SO! Rap star and fashion aficionado Kanye West has unveiled his highly anticipated womenswear line in front of a star-packed crowd at the Paris Fashion.

I find the collection rather heavy looking, but I think the aesthetics are still there. Either way the styling mastered by our very own Christine Centenera is spot on and the on a whole the collection is pretty banging. Which is good, because celebrity collections usually blow. Kanye.. hit a sister up with some pieces.
